Soomin Chae

Registered Music Therapist, Flute Teacher, Musician

Soomin is a Registered Music Therapist with a Bachelor of Music, AMusA in flute and Masters of Creative Music Therapy. Soomin has also completed training in Key Word Signs and Neurologic Music Therapy.

​

Soomin brings a broad range of clinical experience across diverse settings including, disability and aged care facilities, mainstream and special education environments, and inpatient mental health services. She currently works with children, adolescents and adults with disabilities.

 

With person-centred approach, Soomin tailors music therapy interventions  to meet each client's individual goals and needs. She is passionate about using music to foster connection, enhance physical and mental well-being, support skill development and promote enjoyment.

With 7 years of experience teaching flute in both private and school settings, Soomin offers lessons for students of all ages and skill levels. Her background includes performing in concert bands, orchestras, flute choirs, and chamber ensembles across a variety of styles. She has also prepared students for AMEB exams and enjoys creating fun, personalised lessons tailored to each student’s goals and interests.

Soomin is fluent in English and Korean and is happy to provide sessions and lessons in either language.
